The makers say it's not parody, but they're clearly not Chick followers - kind of a shame, but it still looks so very good.

oh man this looks fun
reminds me of the night an intrepid queer theatre troupe in SF (I think it was Sick and Twisted Players?) put on three Chick tracts as "one act plays"- they did the satanic music one, complete with people smoking pot and delivering lines like "I'm so high I"m flyyyyyyying" as if it was Ibsen- no tongue in cheek but like very straight, fully committed to the text- it was meta-camp of a high order, at once weirdly disturbing and fucking hilarious.

~hyped~. though the trailer shows so much that i worry the full movie will be three minutes long.

Yeah it looks pretty crap as a film... But I like the idea. My parents, I think, were resolutely concerned that Dungeons & Dragons was satanic, even though they weren't evangelical or even right wing. They just sort of went with whatever they read in the newspaper. I also remember my dad being really suspicious about "LSD" at some point.
I can honestly say that, as an adult, fantasy RPGs and other things of this nature make me really happy and give me a lot of continuity in my life.

i wish i could get into a tabletop rpg but it's so much easier when you're in high school + college. i don't have a bunch of friends just hanging out in the neighborhood ready to roll d20s once a week.

It was exactly like that in my school when we role played.

D&D was banned (along with Halloween!) at my relatively normal C of E primary school in the eighties for being satanic. The backlash against the game definitely wasn't limited to the lunatic fringe.
