Thread for listing what's accumulated on our Tivos and Genies and Hoppers, because as cryptosicko said, "the process of occasionally listing everything I've been saving to watch 'for later' might actually goad me into watching some of these things." Also for ILXor advice a la "don't miss that!" or "don't watch that crap!"

If we've done this already, I couldn't find the thread.

Of the ones I've seen but you haven't, I'd say def watch Carnal Knowledge first. Five Easy Pieces, Magic Mike and Going My Way all good too. And there is never not a good time to rewatch Chinatown.

I think Blue Velvet has to be your first stop there, then maybe Strangers on a Train. F For Fake, Looper, Roxanne all worth the time, and surprisingly to me, so was Premium Rush (Michael Shannon + interesting structure). I wanted to like The Master a lot more than I did, since I loved There Will Be Blood so much. Altered States and Victor/Victoria...ehhh.

TCM is showing Laura in a couple of weeks...I will try to catch that finally.

Blue Velvet, Strangers on a Train, F for Fake and Altered States are all on my "how the hell have I not seen these?!" list (or rather, in the case of Strangers, how have I never seen the whole thing?), so I should make those priorities. Premium Rush is on there because, as with Looper and Don Jon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the very few contemporary actors whose presence alone will generally convince me to see a film.
