Living Colour - Vivid (Fuck, this is amazing so far! Maybe my favourite 80s hard rock album. Why don't people love them like Jane's Addiction? They're better! The opening to "Desperate People" is dazzling. "Funny Vibe" is mental in a great way. The guitar noise in "Memories Can't Wait" as well as Glover's voice is fab. Shit, I just got to the solo in "Broken Hearts". It's awesome.)

Maybe I don't like Al Green as much as I thought I did (or would). Not that I have anything bad to say about it exactly, but I'm not getting into it. The Johnny Cash is okay and has some songs I like, but I'm in no hurry to buy more of his work.

Yeah, sundar, he actually started out as a straight jazz guy, though I've heard him drop some pretty rigid time IMO in a jazz setting since. He did a record with Jamaaladeen Tacuma that has some of the straightest "swing" I've ever heard.
