Some of that I might characterize more as "balearic"? I don't know, edges are blurry. Going to go through this and probably add a bunch to a spotify playlist I have called BalCosLoft which I describe as "Started as a mish-mash of Balearic, Cosmic and Loft classics. Then it got bigger as I followed my own taste and threads into italo disco, house/techno, post-punk and other diversions. yeah some of the songs like “why” and “masimbabele” could work in either Balearic or cosmic sets imho - definitely a fair bit of crossover between the two

After doing a number of mixes focused on various flavors of techno that were getting progressively noisier and more aggressive, it was time to shift gears a bit. This new one is much more chill, with lots of minimal and spacey house, tech house, and breakbeat, plus brief guest appearances from Steely Dan and Sun Ra hidden in there. Maybe i'm just overcaffeinated, but this is really hitting the spot this morning. it's kinda novel to hear 80's AOR mixed dj style (i.e. fixx -> bunnymen)

whatever it takes! ty for noticing the effort, i don't consider myself the most technically skilled dj so i appreciate that. i originally intended to use the format to take a break from being a dancefloor dj and not bother with mixing, but then when it came down to it i couldn't resist trying to finesse it. i was particularly happy with monkey house into knock on wood, something satisfying about how the later came into focus

Didn't know that frankie knuckles Womack and Womack mix. Only recently heard their Life's Just a Ballgame Ballroom Mix. All from the Conscience album I see. They are so good. A few years ago I got really really obsessed with Baby I'm Scared of You. It's still an absolute favorite. The whole Love Wars album is amazing. Was doing a Teddy Pendergrass deep dive yesterday and heard his version of TKO which had me listening to Love Wars again.
