I love their stuff, thanks for the tip on the Slessig Trio - more to check out!

They may not be groundbreaking, but everything can't be groundbreaking. They're just good.

i quite liked "and the surrounding mountains". inconsequential, but pleasant.

don't think i could be bothered with another album, though.

Well I love 'em, and that's enough for me. Saw them when they toured "And the surrounding mountains" and they were great. A new album would be most welcome.

radar bros = sublime, especially the second s/t album with 'godess' on it

"Goddess" is of course their best song. 'Dum-dum'ing along to a guitar solo = genius.

'distant mines' is a close second - what a hook line, "so alone" - yuss!

more love for the bros.! i think their 'singing hatchet' release was their best. though that's probably because it was the first of their's that i had heard until then. that song towards the end, "open sea fishing" or something like that, is soooo fucking cool! that whole album is full of twisted floydian dreamscapes straight outta the 'meddle' through 'wish you were here' era. from the brand of hate expressed above i'm getting the feeling the radar bros. might be perceived as the indie-rock geek's answer to the dave matthews band or something.

Bump.

And they've got a new album out - "Auditorium" - and it's been out for a few months actually. Has anyone heard it? Is it any good? The lyrics are 'political' apparantly. Hmm.

Going through a bit of a Dick Slessig Trio deep dive during lockdown;

For the rare intersection of fans of both glen campbell and the necks, it’s the Dick Slessig Trio

Okay, some great news on the Dick Slessig Combo front. First: Guitarist Mark Lightcap has an instagram account called (um) "dickslessig". Dunno why I couldn't find this before but here it is. https://t.co/25oxTntgpI

Jon L who used to post here in the mid-aughts mentions a "Live at the Yerb" CDr that I can't find any non-ILx reference to.

A good recommendation, I need something to fill the slowcore void in my listening left by the cancellation of the Red House Painters. Jim Putnam's new Mt Wilson Repeater album is well worth checking out.
