Nightcrawlers 'Push The Feeling On' originally seemed like quite a sad subdued anthem, then it became a huge hit but going back to it now it still retains a similar poignancy to classics such as the aforementioned Nightcrawlers and Frankie Knuckles

The recent JCA remix of Push the Feeling On makes it more melancholic, I think. Oh, and the instrumental of the Royksopp remix of Weak Become Heroes.

I'm gonna think hard before I contribute here - tears on the dancefloor is, like, one of the reigning critical concepts in my world.

You could start with RJ Project's "What Colour Is Love (Red Jerry's Monkeyhouse Mix)" from the Le Future Le Funk comp, though.
