all of the electronic-y, semi-interesting non-guitar bits on this record are just kind of pasted on unconvincingly

it's 'pleasant enough' and i wouldn't mind/notice it in a social setting, but fourth best album of the decade?

I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is their staggering career pinnacle. The rest s just nice, occasionally really, really wel put together. Best thing about YHF is Jim O'Rourke.

PP and PKB are the 2nd and 3rd best songs on it, aye. There are no "bad" songs on YHF, though; just nothing else, anywhere in their canon, like IATTBYH.

THIS IS AWESOME. and from a guy who likes slayer too.

The whole point about Wilco (as Summerteeth proves beyond all doubt) is that they're not rockist, as opposed to Son Volt. Being There is not rockist, but rather operates to question the foundations of rock myth.
