Didn't know that frankie knuckles Womack and Womack mix. Only recently heard their Life's Just a Ballgame Ballroom Mix. All from the Conscience album I see. They are so good. A few years ago I got really really obsessed with Baby I'm Scared of You. It's still an absolute favorite. The whole Love Wars album is amazing. Was doing a Teddy Pendergrass deep dive yesterday and heard his version of TKO which had me listening to Love Wars again.

true story - I was at a party a couple of weeks ago, we had on Janet Jackson and someone asked if we could play something "with a bit more substance" and I was exepcting them to request some serious techno or deep house so when they responded to "aye, what do you fancy" with "Rhythm Is A Dancer!" I took the notion that I wanted to do something very unbothered by the concept of tastefulness.

also, as I'm sure is the case for everyone in Glasgow who is near-ages with me, I've been thinking a lot about what local clubbing sounded like in the late 00s and early 10s, for obvious reasons.

Thing is, these tracks may sound obvious because they were huge at some point, but many will still be completely new to loads of people, simply because they were not out clubbing in those particular few months that these tracks were played out. Obv not talking about Rhythm Is A Dancer or I Want Your Love, though.

The bubbly bits of Inspector Norse plus the extended acappella at the start of the Dimitri From Paris remix of Le Freak is a neat trick, I have found.
