2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees

my thought on sleater-kinney is they were such an enormous critical success that a HOF finalist slot (at least) seems inevitable. they weren't some band championed by only a few critical voices, really. but I might be underestimating the ability of this partic voting bloc to ignore everyone but the gold and platinum acts.

yeah i think the replacements are a more logical "if them, then" but honestly the test will be if we see pavement as a finalist first

or, like, jeepers, the pixies

will be interesting to see which road the hall of fame takes as woodstock II acts lead to woodstock III acts

again, assuming it gets a chance to do that

yeah that's kind of my point, if S-K is in line they're in line behind the Replacements, SY, the Pixies, etc. all of whom have been eligible for a while without a shoutout. if the 120 Minutes crowd starts getting inducted, they're way way in the middle of the pack.

i think Sheryl Crow was already inducted in 1998 and they're just waiting to tell us

I think one notable part of Joan Jett's musical legacy is that she was and is a true rock and roll road dog. Jett has played a serious amount of gigs over the years, she's really good on stage and I would say that is a big part of what has really kept her music going.

Curious awards these. Has anyone ever turned them down? Always makes me laugh the anti establishment only really anti until someone invites them in. Like they both secretly wanted each other in the first place.

If you were a heavy metal fan in the early '70s, you almost certainly would have known who the Spinners were--might have even liked them. They were all over Top 40 with a number of brilliant singles.

I'm voting for the Smiths just because I'd like to see Mozz and Johnny Marr together in a stage exchanging uncomfortable looks. Anyway Reed will get in eventually, and even though I like NIN, I'm not really interested in extending Reznor's upcoming award ceromony tour.
