I used to work in regional news about 7/8 years ago and we did a lot of stories that came via the police, about a bookies being robbed or whatever. It was fairly common for the police press release to just say "the suspect is described as a black male". But if it was a white person they'd be wearing "a distinctive orange sports top" or whatever.

I guess what I'm getting at is, why didn't all those black criminals wear more distinctive clothes?

Does the phone number warrant inclusion here?
