Seaside Sons started with long-time friends Jason Skimming & Craig McGinn getting together to write songs to play as an acoustic act in 2012. It wasn’t long before they started to build a following and realised that it was time to take the music to the next level. In October of 2013, experienced guitarist Pav Cathcart and seasoned drummer Campbell Sproat both formerly of Nelson Gem, joined the band.

I think I remember a newsagents called Sproats in Kilmarnock back in the day.

Next to the Willy Low's in Onthank. Anyone?

Flesh are pioneers of SnotPop, a smutty new hash of Britpop with splashes of their Madchester beat surroundings, grunge and cast-iron heavy metal guitars with solid pop foundations. The lads jam out tunes of hedonistic nightlife sleaze over breakbeats and sludge, fuelled by minimum-wage venting and an affinity for second hand sportswear.

With the name inspired by both the in-your-face LGBT Hacienda nights, John Waters style trash and a lack of human connection to the inevitable AI tech world take over, their sounds paint pictures of debauchery, raunch and total apathy.

Influenced by not only the guitar scene but also the filthy club environment, they pump out hard electronic remixes for each single, appearing enigmatically on limited edition CDs, with DJ sets in Europe and at nights such as Boiler Room by the members.

They sound marginally too interesting and eclectic.

also digital video tech has created this bad almost "uncanny valley" middleground in band videos where bands can make videos that are too professional to be charming and too lame and cheap looking to actually look cool

these guys = crap Earl Brutus, with 70s iconography replaced by 90s, judging by that video and the pictures on this thread

actually, this is making me think of the Klaxons, who were meant to be a mix of acid house, p-funk, Tangerine Dream, Thomas Pynchon etc etc

iirc when Kasabian first came out all their proclaimed influences were hipster/namecheckable bands as well

them having a song called Avin It In Ibiza is basically what I'm talking about here, ie they're more or less the same as the other bands itt but advanced one irony level
