i know when that chandler bing (Jordan), Monday, 26 October 2015 21:03 (nine years ago)

This is great, still not paying £30+ for a balcony seat to see her though. My own fault for snoozing and not getting standing tickets :-/

lilcraigyboi (Craigo Boingo), Monday, 26 October 2015 23:30 (nine years ago)

I like it, but part of me kind of wishes there for there to be a ripping a guitar solo in there, but I guess this is what you get with an artist who hasn't had as much experience with a guitar before.

MarkoP, Monday, 26 October 2015 23:44 (nine years ago)

way 2 make grimes sound like a 5 yr old

crime breeze (schlump), Tuesday, 27 October 2015 00:39 (nine years ago)

i think we can all agree that every song would be better with a ripping guitar solo in it

4AD says: out digitally November 6, Janelle Monae is on it

You guys are caterpillar (Telephone thing), Tuesday, 27 October 2015 00:47 (nine years ago)

v bummed if no realiti on the lp but there are typos in the 4ad thing so knows

crime breeze (schlump), Tuesday, 27 October 2015 01:18 (nine years ago)

I'm still missing the Claire Hamill x Richard D. James quality I so admired about the less poppy parts of Visions.

☸ (Sanpaku), Tuesday, 27 October 2015 01:27 (nine years ago)

IDK, something a little basic about those two tracks, like it has more than hints of the swedish pop machine. Still has some good grimesian touches and not bad overall. Looking forward to hearing the rest.

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Tuesday, 27 October 2015 01:31 (nine years ago)

I for one am shocked and disappointed the qualities that Grimes explored on Visions' non-singles are not as present on the first single for her new album.

Tim F, Tuesday, 27 October 2015 01:32 (nine years ago)

oh claire hamill is so great
i never thought of her in relation to grimes

every stray industrial percussive sound on this is a blessing

crime breeze (schlump), Tuesday, 27 October 2015 03:26 (nine years ago)

yeah not thrilled, we already have good synthy pop out there, do we need another one? didn't listen to the second song.

Van Horn Street, Tuesday, 27 October 2015 03:59 (nine years ago)

flesh without blood isn't as good as realiti but it's still quite nice, love that she's taken the feel of the percussion from realiti further.

don't really care for life in the vivid dream but i guess it'll probably fit as more of an interlude in the album.

https://youtu.be/svT2miDOc4M very disappointed she's confirmed that this isn't on the album

ufo, Tuesday, 27 October 2015 04:26 (nine years ago)

hum. disappointing first single...
I hope the rest of the album is more inspired.

AlXTC from Paris, Tuesday, 27 October 2015 14:31 (nine years ago)

Everything about this "era" has been brilliant so far. Great songs, hilarious cover, Grimes wearing wings and clutching a bloody dress.

Leonard Pine, Tuesday, 27 October 2015 20:07 (nine years ago)

lol, yesterday I was thinking "weird, I already can't remember how it goes, not very catchy at all" and then suddenly just now it popped out of my brain again like Alien.

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Tuesday, 27 October 2015 20:08 (nine years ago)

new song is great

flopson, Wednesday, 28 October 2015 02:16 (nine years ago)

this pops into my head unexpectadly

rap is dad (it's a boy!), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 02:24 (nine years ago)

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 03:11 (nine years ago)

get not wanting her to be this straightforwardly pop all the time but have watched this like a dozen times today

playlists of pensive swift (difficult listening hour), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 03:18 (nine years ago)

still way-recognizably her imo, brought into simple focus

playlists of pensive swift (difficult listening hour), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 03:19 (nine years ago)

After a few listens it becomes interesting just to focus on the interplay between her trademark touches and the straightforward popness.

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 03:20 (nine years ago)

I think I got a little worried at first when I heard the "ay-ayee-yay" and that melodic tic on "I don't SEE THE LIGHT" that's in so many songs.

I know I've already been yellowcarded about music geekery here but I love the way she goes out of key on that one note in "I - don't - care a-a-nymore"

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 03:46 (nine years ago)

yes, I love that too

NATION: ? ? ? (Sufjan Grafton), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 04:08 (nine years ago)

ok i'm 100% onboard with this song now, i just keep playing it

nomar, Wednesday, 28 October 2015 19:36 (nine years ago)

so this song is basically about fans/critics who don't want her to go pop, right?

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Wednesday, 28 October 2015 19:52 (nine years ago)

fans/critics being anal retentive again.

Sanpaku, Friday, 30 October 2015 15:17 (nine years ago)

haha I'm glad there's a song like this on an album called Art Angels. I can't even tell she's singing on this, but she definitely feels of this.

rap is dad (it's a boy!), Friday, 30 October 2015 15:50 (nine years ago)

not super into this (mostly due to the guitars) but i respect the titular scream.

that track is kind of weird but I will try to let it sink in given my 180 on FWB. Something kind of late 90s about it in a way I can't quite place.

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Friday, 30 October 2015 16:08 (nine years ago)

Maybe Art Angels : Visions :: Sucker : True Romance
