Tango In The Night is a really big record for us as well, by Fleetwood Mac. That really inspired this record. Yeah, Scritti Polliti. Alexander O’Neal, funnily enough, was a big part of this record; we love that album Hearsay. Michael and Janet Jackson too.

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 19 February 2016 05:53 (nine years ago)

Off topic a bit, but just listened to M83's "Graveyard Girl" for the first time in probably a few years and noticed how strikingly similar the verses are to those in "Milk".

art baengels (monotony), Friday, 19 February 2016 06:27 (nine years ago)

The burrito of ennui (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 22 February 2016 19:55 (nine years ago)

i'll quote on the road like a twat
and wind my way out of the city
finding a girl who is equally pretty won't be hard
i just had a change of heart

HYPERLINK TO RAP GENIUS (BradNelson), Monday, 22 February 2016 21:05 (nine years ago)

"i'll quote on the road like a twat"

I don't know the song and i already love this lyric so much. 'Cause 'on the road'... Ugh

Nourry, Monday, 22 February 2016 23:02 (nine years ago)

deej what happened to your poker face

The burrito of ennui (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 22:15 (nine years ago)

stereogum put a thing up which doesn't say much other than "lol they sound like a lot of different things, but it all kind of works"

art baengels (monotony), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 22:16 (nine years ago)

stereogum seem really enthusiastic about it but the review spends too much time unsuccessfully trying to defend it to their readers

ufo, Tuesday, 23 February 2016 22:52 (nine years ago)

the comments are hilarious

HYPERLINK TO RAP GENIUS (BradNelson), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 22:59 (nine years ago)

do any of them pick on Healy's hair? That's what it matters.

The burrito of ennui (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:08 (nine years ago)

just sayin, Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:17 (nine years ago)

MarkoP, Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:30 (nine years ago)

The burrito of ennui (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:31 (nine years ago)

NSFWork work work work work (Spottie), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:32 (nine years ago)

NSFWork work work work work (Spottie), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:32 (nine years ago)

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:34 (nine years ago)

MarkoP, Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:40 (nine years ago)

yessss

NSFWork work work work work (Spottie), Tuesday, 23 February 2016 23:41 (nine years ago)

"Mr Jones" performed as if it's secretly Simply Red's "It's Only Love (Valentine Remix)".

(Simply Red are one of the few remaining useful reference points that doesn't seem to come up in respect of this band)

Tim F, Wednesday, 24 February 2016 00:18 (nine years ago)

The way Breihan describes them at Stereogum makes me think of Franz Ferdinand (who I liked for their first 3 albums). And I liked the debut, so I'll definitely check this out.

the top man in the language department (誤訳侮辱), Wednesday, 24 February 2016 01:06 (nine years ago)
