Took my daughter down to the London pop-up shop on Sunday (because we were told we could come straight in). Felt guilty about queue jumping past several thousands people. And very self conscious as a middle aged man - was only there for my daughter. In consequence, I ended up letting her spend £170 of my money. It was billed as an edition of 1/1, so with a bit of luck that's my pension sorted.

The middle stretch from "Please Be Naked" to the title track has grown on me a lot. I don't think she gets much love here, but I hear some Imogen Heap in a few of those tracks, and they pull off her sound as well as she does. The last three tracks still don't do much for me yet though

I noticed that "The Sound" and "She's American" share the same first seven notes for the chorus! I still love both in pretty different ways

i haven't really been listening to the two singles at the beginning or the two songs at the end that much so i consider "change of heart" and "paris" to be really nice bookends

oh shit no. 1 in the u.s.

Saw the opening night of the tour last night (going again on Monday). Don't miss this show if you have the chance to see it. I'd say it's 15 mins too long (there's a mid pace sag in the middle), but overall it is astounding. The production design is stunning. The setlist is fantastic. As Dorian, who I was with, said to me: This is a band who are doing everything right. It was quite overwhelming.

the setlist looks sick, i'd maybe have subbed out "so far (it's alright)" [which "loving someone" is kind of an even more amazing version of??] for "this must be my dream" [i mean or "pressure" which is still the best song of all time] but fuckkk i'm so hype

i was frantically searching for live videos of "anobrain" and then i realised OH WAIT I AM SEEING THEM ON WEDNESDAY <3 <3 <3 so maybe i shouldn't go down that rabbit hole rn

i wish they'd start playing "head.cars.bending" again (when they opened their set with it the first time i saw them in 2013 i was like "oh wow this band is special") but i have no complaints about the setlist and am considering buying tickets I can't afford for barclays

I bought a physical copy in Target this morning and danced in the shorts aisle.

I wanted to buy this on vinyl but it's currently $40 at my local store. It's a great album and everything but that price is crazy, even when it's clear vinyl.

Giving this a shot, nice to have something the splits the difference between Phoenix and Maroon 5. Bummed that "Please Be Naked" doesn't sound at all like "The Big Ship," imo - more like one of those Phoenix instrumentals - but "Change of Heart" sure sounds like "Crazy for You."
