Stupid sensationalist headline made me think she had died.

That's one of my pet peeves. Glad she hasn't been electrocuted. When it comes to onstage electrocutions, I mostly just think of the guy from Stone the Crows back in the 70s, but there was a singer who got killed just a few years ago in Argentina.

i've gotten electrocuted before while playing a show but usually that's cos it's in a crappy basement or otherwise makeshift venue w no grounding, not a real venue, that is bs.

She did good, it's all that matters. Sure this could have, should have be more important than say, Taylor Swift in an ideal universe but she did good.

these songs are so jam packed full of ideas. like, even a seemingly simple one like "california" has that pon de replay beat mixed with that rumbling western guitar line and just all this stuff you wouldn't think to put together.

but it never sounds busy or weighed down either. she's like a magician.

the "eh" in "eh, i don't behave" is a nice canadian flourish in a song about a time traveling "italiana mobster looking so precious"

I gave Art Angels a run for the first time in over a month yesterday and it didn't strike me as unimpeachable as it did initially. But I stand by my initial assessment that its' highlights are easily the best things she's recorded.

My 3yo daughter is absolutely batshit insane in love with Kill V Maim, and I agree with her that it's a great song

she used a completely different version of the song for this, much more subdued. once again the video starts off strong but goes nowhere, there are all these cool set pieces but nothing really happens, not very compelling, never gains momentum.

music videos don't need to go anywhere. it's fun watching her dancing around in weird outfits on cool sets.
