My dad and I have been exchanging birthday and Xmas mixes for over 20 years, from cassette through minidisc to cd. Been thinking about putting them on mixcloud for a while now. Not sure if soundcloud is better as there are usually gaps between tracks on my dad's. I make rudimentary efforts to 'mix' mine by using fades and edits on audacity or toast. i started using vinyl + 1200s almost exactly a year ago. i have put in about 500 hrs or so practicing and i still feel like i pretty much suck. but i want to post a document of my progress, both for my own reflective purposes and also to encourage anyone who's thinking of trying to learn. i think it's really worth it. i feel much more connected to what i'm doing and it's much more fun and exciting than when i was spinning digital. someday i hope to be as excellent as chewshabadoo, but until then ... nine tracks in 45 minutes, apologies for shaky mixes.
