"Inside Your Mind," "How to Draw/Petrichor" and "It's Not Living (If It's Not with You)" seem like the unalloyed triumphs so far -- perfect meldings of, ah, sound and vision.

i'd still consider "love it if we made it" a perfect melding thereof (& don't rly get how it's a mess musically) but it feels awkward right after "petrichor", feels like it shld draw out from a roomier space mb? idk it's one of the less obvious sequencing decisions to me

honestly i'd think it'd go great btwn tracks 1&3 but also am trying not to think like that

i get not being the most impressed w "inside your mind" melodically but i think of the end ringing into the guitar coiling up at the beginning of "it's not living" as part of the former song's movement

lyrics aside "be my mistake" floats so movement isn't a big concern for me there

"surrounded by heads..." struck me as a highlight. I suppose it's a good sign that everyone seems to have different ones.

I can't wait to hear this album live.

There was one moment while making the record that, if you could bottle it, it would be better than any other drug. I was sat in my car, and I had to get this line. I had, “Consultation, degradation, fossil-fueling masturbation/Immigration, liberal kitsch, kneeling on a pitch...” And then I had “excited to be indicted.” I had all these things, but I didn’t have that one bit in between. I needed seven syllables. And I’d just written the Kanye line, and I was thinking, “What else has he famously said?” Then it was like [sings triumphant melody] the syllable spaces of “I moved on her like a bitch” just went in, game show-style, and I was like, “Oh my god!
