NIGHTMARE

I love A Dangerous Meeting to bits. It exudes all the best qualities of heavy metal, and it's probably the creepiest story King ever told.

That riff at the end with the bell chiming.....fuck

it's crazy how Ghost made a whole career out of the chorus to A Dangerous Meeting

I debated the merits of this album with Dylan Carson from Earth on Twitter; he was more of a Melissa man, whereas I repped for DBTO. Good times!

Such a warm memory. At the time I think I had only heard Melissa and 9.

I just voted for my favorite riff ("A Dangerous Meeting").
― shared unit of analysis (unperson), Wednesday, 30 October 2019 22:33 (four years ago) link
my favorite riffs are all right in a row on "nightmare," my favorite chorus is "desecration of souls," but i think my favorite for cumulative effect is "night of the unborn"
i also feel like voting for "gypsy" bc it's so catchy and for "the oath" bc listen to that riff, how badass is it

a joy! I always wonder what would have been different in my life if, the first time I heard this record, I hadn't recoiled from the vox. I had to go through getting into thrash / death metal and then circle back...and now I have a "don't break the oath" tattoo on my forearm

I started with Melissa and that smoothed me onto his vox.
But they're kinda next level weird on this one.
The only mark against Oath is that it doesn't have "Evil"

Damn, I should have done a Melissa jack-o-lantern. Next year!
