Quick question: Studio is on the album list as "Studio - West Coast / Yearbook 1 -- these are more or less the same album".

Do we need to past the whole thing for the vote to count or just up to the titles?

i am trying to employ a one-song-per-artist policy but let it be hereby noted that i am TORN between Piece Of Me and Get Naked, and this might come down to a coinflip

get naked is obviously better, also I am voting for it so more chance of making it.

i went toxic just over piece of me but if i did it today i probably would've gone piece of me instead - i really tried to include both but without the 1 artist 1 song rule it was just impossible

Had I known someone else would've voted for it, I would've nommed it. Instead, the only entrant from PINK is the track I always skip.

Fuck me! I guess I'm gonna have to cram for this tomorrow night. I already kinda know what the top part of each ballot will look like, so I may not even end up using all 50 places on either one.

Finally voted after agonizing for two weeks. I'm very excited to see the results, it seems there was at least twice as much music I wanted to vote for as ballot spots.

Voted! Had to do unweighted for LPs as it was impossible to do otherwise.

"One track by each artist" principle was also not workable, Broadcast ended up with 2 or 3 (1 with The Focus Group)

Now to get on with the rest of my life.

I couldn't have come up with a list of tracks even if I wanted to. There are limits.

Can I, uh, resubmit my ballot? I made a catastrophic mistake, ranking-wise.

tracks was easy enough but albums was impossible. had to set myself a one album per artist rule to get it down from 70ish to 50.

When is the rollout likely to start - next week or the week after?

I voted. Decided to just go with whatever I was into the most these days, made a top 15 or so and then just randomly took enough other tracks or albums from my initial whittling to fill the unranked part of my ballot. It's not exactly fair, but at least it's arbitrary.

I kind of did what Silverfish did. I found myself throwing out several songs I'd previously rated highly. (BoC's Dawn Chorus is fine, but pretty repetitious and the voice samples completely ruin it for me.) I don't know why I used to consider this song a standout of that album, let alone the decade. One thing that made this poll so much fun is that this is probably my least favorite decade of music since the sixties, and it has caused me to take a closer listen to a lot stuff I missed.

Argh, I have 40 albums I definitely want to vote for and like another 40 I probably want to vote for and no time to listen to them all before arbitrarily squeezing them down. And the tracks "shortlist" is still in the hundreds...

Can I submit album and tracks polls separately or will that confuse the system?

(This is fun! Too bad I missed the nominations stage as I won't be able to vote for Cave - "Psychic Psummer" and probably a lot of other stuff I haven't thought of because thinking of it would be a waste of brainpower!)

Would it be bad to clutter this thread with things we would have nominated, or should we save those for after the results?

It surprised me a little how song-oriented my tracks ballot turned out, in sharp contrast to my albums ballot. I guess when I think in terms of tracks that stand out in my mind, it's songs that really register, at least as far as 00-09 goes.

it's quite funny how all the questions you're asking can be answered the same way: "yes, it's fine, but seandalai will say if otherwise"
