I think the horrible animal mutilation makes that one a bit more than just yawnsomely literal.

Also, to be pedantic, Snakefinger is the name of the artist not the album.

Soup on my lanyard (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 December 2019 12:17 (five years ago)

Steve Cropper, Pops Staples, and Albert King: Jammed Together

a bevy of supermodels, musicians and Lena Dunham (C. Grisso/McCain), Thursday, 23 January 2020 08:07 (five years ago)

I have flipped past Rufus' Seal in Red in the bins countless times, yet never looked at the back cover. That one's amazing. (xpost to 2 months ago)

Tim, Friday, 24 January 2020 11:42 (five years ago)

There should be a thread for "I have a friend that draws" album covers

the public eating of beans (Sparkle Motion), Friday, 24 January 2020 14:04 (five years ago)

I'd like to make one called "The Heat Is On" and it's just a finger pointing to a thermostat that clearly has an switch in the "on" position

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Friday, 24 January 2020 14:41 (five years ago)

Or maybe even better, not a real thermostat, just a very crude, old-looking switch labeled "HEAT" with "ON" and "OFF labels for the positions.

it's after the end of the world (Matt #2), Friday, 24 January 2020 15:07 (five years ago)

Okay, that one is kind of freaking me out with its yawnsome literalness.

TS: Kirk/Spock vs. Marat/Sade (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 26 January 2020 19:45 (five years ago)

NOT impressed with that guy's leaning technique

nothing in the dialog (unregistered), Sunday, 26 January 2020 22:06 (five years ago)

at least they didn't call it "Hands in my Pants"

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Monday, 27 January 2020 18:48 (five years ago)

I can't help but assume they had one photo of the guy and then just decided what to call the album based on the photo

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:35 (five years ago)

a lot of the "on the rocks" albums—and there are a lot—are pretty bad but not nec yawnsomely literal.

andrew m., Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:35 (five years ago)

i would like them to be standing on surfboards on top of those rocks please

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:37 (five years ago)

the cover for wailing souls' on the rocks has me confused, however.

andrew m., Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:39 (five years ago)

Bit late here, but: a flute is not a horn, Jim.

emil.y, Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:39 (five years ago)

how bout we change it to wailing souls hit the hay? no?

andrew m., Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:39 (five years ago)

TS: Kirk/Spock vs. Marat/Sade (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:45 (five years ago)

Would shop at Jim's Winds for sure

the public eating of beans (Sparkle Motion), Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:45 (five years ago)

wailing souls cover reminds me when my wife and i were looking to get some hay bales for a halloween party. her country-fried coworker says "you don't want hay you want straw-hay. hay-hay's got chopped up snakes and shit in there." i think of this at least a few times a year.

andrew m., Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:48 (five years ago)

the lesson: ask for straw hay, people.

andrew m., Wednesday, 29 January 2020 15:48 (five years ago)

I'm very anxious about getting The Surfers double bass back to shore without salt water damage.
