very curious whether the singles were chosen to encompass the breadth of the album. i hope not! i want the album the surprise me the same way each new single has.

i'm a little underwhelmed, there are a lot of really great moments on this, but most of them are on the singles, and it's such a mess. ilwys got away with its length by being sequenced perfectly while this is ridiculously all over the place. some of the electronic tracks in particular feel underdeveloped - they sound gorgeous as always but don't end up doing enough with what's there. there's definitely a very good album of a more normal length here at least
