The way the speech starts to draa-aa-ag slightly with the beats really gets me. I don't know why. Love the album, except for Diamond Jigsaw, which is silly fun but out of place.― James Morrison, Friday, September 10, 2010 1:56 PM

There are some great anthems on there and also some beautiful and dark songs too. Moon In Water and Louisiana are fantastic. I say go back and get Barking if it's cheap. It's a fun album. ― brotherlovesdub, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 7:10 AM

The hypnoctic Underworld sound spiced with chilled jazzy elements... I'm gonna listen to this till my ears fall off.
I ask myself: “Self, doz it get any better as time goes on?” ...and Underworld reply with this mind-numbingly amazing intoxication of the senses. They just keep on bringing light in to a dark place. Play on, my players. Play on.
A musical journey with both calm and thrill is just what I wanted.

I love the combination of laid back beach vibes with at times a melancholic feel. *hits repeat*
Perfect combination of minimal techno and jazzy feel and its driven by so well made drums. Thats really the best part of it for me. Subtle Cups reference for me. Perfect. Just perfect, I really hope this goes on an album. There could be some instrumentals, like Hamburg Hotel and this is no worse than Hamburg Hotel itself. This is perfect mood, on repeat here.

Originally a 3-minute youtube video to commemorate Underworld's first Northern Irish gig in 2018, expanded to a nine-minute free mp3 to launch the second phase of Drift in 2019, expanded mightily through The Necks some weeks later, and then reinterpreted again for the box set, Appleshine would have placed right here on title-only votes: 9, bestowing 362 points.
