revival of an old ILE mixtape thread has made me think- how about a collaborative mix? one person starts it, saves the file, next person opens it, adds a song in Audition or whatever, saves again? would need a thread to coordinate and somewhere to save it, but neither should be a problem.

I started doing it over lockdown as I had nothing to do on Firdays but get drunk and play tunes in my room. With some good advice from friends and Ilxors, I downloaded OBS streaming software (free), got an account with Restream.io (a streaming aggregator) and Twitch.TV. Haven't really worked out how to use YouTube for this, and now apparently FB are cutting all live music streams or some bullshit so it might be worth looking into.

Do let me know when it is so I can tune in if I'm free. I'd like to see how you do it as I'm just muddling through really.

so we were discussing dj practice / dj planning on this thread and i came out strongly against too much planning and later i posted an unplanned / unpracticed mix on this thread

but i'm a big hypocrite, i like to rework things a bunch of times, which i ended up doing, cut out the bullshit, figured out all of the transitions, etc. so here's i guess an example of a kind of aggressive / obnoxious mixing you can't do without planning unless you just have a stack of prematched dj tools (like say jeff mills) or you really know your records and you're totally going for it. i think it sounds a bit canned / uptight but it gets more so every time i try again so i'm posting to get it out of my system:
