I know he's not very tall, but he looks about 5'6 there.

I bet he felt much more comfortable bending the knee a little bit closer to the camera than Angela was!

did he ever say which he prefers

Kieth would obviously take Oasis over Stone Roses.

I don't know, doesn't he claim he was an 80s indie kid?

Just heard a band on 6Music called Afflecks Palace; I'm not googling to see what they look like, they belong here already.

The issue or issues of NME introducing all three of those bands as saviours of music was peak me buying NME as a kid.

Didn't the Campag Velocet guy mostly dress in cycling shirts? That was probably a good look by hazy memory but I'm not searching to confirm, mainly because I don't want Campag Velocet in my search history. I thought I had a 12" of theirs but turns out I was confusing them with Regular Fries. So now Campag Velocet are in my living room search history. I think the record I'm thinking of was also on Rabid Badger records lol 1998 what the fuck was I thinking. Lo-Fidelity Allstars had some bangers tho, mostly after they ditched the "singer"

i f*cking loved the fries.
first album in particular.
the last band i have tried to get everything that was available on cd.
still listen to them a lot, and to be fair, same goes for the other 2 bands.
never saw any of them live, and had given buying the nme so have no idea what they looked/interviewed like, nor care.

not going to deny it.

FUR are William Murray, Flynn Whelan, William Tavener and Harry Saunders. They describe their music as being like "if a 1960s band were doing something modern"

I lived in and around Camden mid-to-late 90s and definitely saw at least one early Campag Velocet gig at the Dublin Castle plus Lo-Fis on several occasions - better live than on record. Their second album is actually pretty good, but almost completely ignored.

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Wednesday, 10 November 2021 21:33 (three years ago) link

i suppose the joke is that it's a sunburst finish. does anyone think of them as a strat band though? only really think of them playing semis and then les pauls

anyhow, every day i walk my dog past one massive house in a fancy street that has like two range rovers in the spacious driveway and through one window i always see this huge framed reproduction of that that album cover on the wall and if you're wondering who would spend a grand on this crappy-looking thing well there's your answer

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Wednesday, 10 November 2021 21:40 (three years ago) link

a google image search of live photos reveals, as you said, mostly hollowbody gibsons or les pauls, few other quirky things
