I couldn't get into Von Dutch, but I love both of these new songs. That So I performance is great too. Looking forward to the album.

Yeah, it’s really great. There’s a guy on YouTube called “Ben.” who has done some great 12” extended mixes of Charli tracks before and I’m hoping they do the same for this one.

Never really listened to her before except for vroom vroom, which I love. Skimming on Spotify 'how I'm feeling now' is the one that jumps out but I'm surprised that people don't like pink diamond which seems an obvious highlight.

Was recently surprised and a bit undone by “Official”, underrated track I think

that whole downtempo stretch on "Charli" is gorgeous!

360 is fantastic as well. Despite having seen Uncut Gems and the recent boiler room set with Julia Fox guesting, i had no clue "I'm so Julia" is a reference to her? (per Genius)

Anyway massively hyped for the album

had completely missed this weird pixies/weezer-esque thing she did for a soundtrack, the guitar sounds here are wild

album is out there in low quality and it's pretty good. probably her third best behind how i'm feeling now & pop 2? it's a less stylistically focused, the songs are generally a little too short and it's not as consistent, but it's still generally very good.

yeah i love this album! the vibe is quite relaxed and unconstrained but it all fits together really well despite the stylistic variation.

"girl, so confusing" is so good, perfect mid-point of 00s electrohouse and hyperpop

no way, "i think about it all the time" is essential and "mean girls" at least has that crazy piano part

I don't want that for her but for a while it seemed like she did. Part of what makes this album a delight after my second listen is how she doesn't give a fuck anymore. She and her producers have manipulated a bunch of cool-sounding electronic burps and screeches and big synth bass for the sake of songs about how to face the life you've ignored after you've been out partying. (I still don't like "Von Dutch").

That makes me think more of "Charli" ("Crash" did go to #1). But yes this album is supposed to be (and on first listen,yeah,sounds like) a harder turn into weirdpop/what she's purporting to really want to do. Maybe she got better terms on her renewed record deal idk

didn’t like “von dutch” much as a standalone, but luckily it’s probably my least favorite on here. “club classics” is indeed a mega classic(“i just wanna hear me when i’m on the dance floor”), also love “everything is romantic” (“falling in love agayne and agayne”), “rewind,” and “girl, so confusing”

honestly most songs are highlights, this is great

charli felt more like a weird compromise-with-the-label than anything else, like it was just a bit of a mess and seemed to be a few different projects cobbled together

don't know if this is showing up anywhere else, but on spotify she changed the art on all of her previous albums to match the style of the BRAT cover

pop 2 & how i'm feeling now were definitely not her aiming for or caring about commercial success and were brilliant (although given "unlock it" later having a bit of tiktok success she might have been able to get more out of it if her label had done any promotion at all when it was released)

yes true. "pop 2" was a "mixtape" though. and "how i'm feeling now" i'm thinking sort of a deep-in-lockdown easier sell to the label?
