Last year's Knocknarea EP was a fine calling card — some heavy shit, thundering drums, huge honking sax, shouty vox, but also some quieter almost spiritual-jazz sections. Debts to post-rock and metal alike. New EP Connla's Well is more of the same, a bit tighter and more expansive at the same time. Loads of energy and noise, cross-genre fluency, and a great sense of exploration. I dig 'em.

Liking this - thanks for the heads up. Reminds me of Ashenspire, Alabaster De Plume maybe even Richard Dawson in places. I *like* the vocals well enough, but think I probably prefer the instrumentals. The closing track on the new EP is squarely in my wheelhouse.
Think imago would like this?
I enjoyed this live set.

Yeah, I like the rawness of the vocals but I think more non-vocal tracks would suit them well. In that interview they talk about having multiple albums' worth of long improvised tracks in the can, I would like to hear some of those.
