Thirty seconds after walking out of my last final exam (ever) and the weight of four years of college lifts from me. First song that comes to mind is "I'm Free" by The Who. After a few choruses of that, I launch into "Shake Your Ass" by Mystikal for no good reason. Then I get home and play "Wild Out" by The LOX. New suggestions?

"Escape from Hell" by External Menace (I think that was their name) if it means leaving Berkeley.

Anything whatsoever that is on a JUKEBOX in a BAR.

The songs I played leading up to my exams I can remember perfectly, mostly cause I would put them on and then laze around and listen to the music instead of working.

But the ones I played afterwards I don't remember at all.

Pretty much everything sounded fucking brilliant, to be honest.

"Air Rappers" by DJ Carhouse and MC Hellshit

I didn't actually graduate to this song, but I practically screamed the Weddoes' "Come Play With Me" after my hellish senior essay oral exam -- "it's over, yeah it's over" etc.

Since I don't really play themed music to complement major life events, I would probably end up just playing whatever I thought would make me happiest at that moment.

Also, that means I don't have anything to remember playing after final (eh - "final" - five more years maybe until I get my phd, maybe that will feel final) tests. But like Tom, I know that whatever it was sounded great.

It dawned on me that I did have a kind of answer to this question.

After my last exam ever, we did a gig. It was all covers. We played Glo-Worm, Les Paul / Mary Ford, Julie London, the Fantastic Something, the Everlys and the Magnetic Fields.

No-one taped it so I can go on imagining that it sounded great for the rest of my life.

i remember guided by voices' 'don't stop now' running through my mind as i crossed mile end road after my last lecture, back in thee day - it seemed to encapsulate that melancholic feeling of definite period ending, of the uncertainty that would follow, and a desire that this one single moment never be forgotten.

as for the soundtrack to the ACTUAL graduation, i was far too drunk to remember.

Music to graduate with is never as good as music to drop out to.

I made my grand decision to drop out of high school listening to the Manics. College I believe was a much tricker and longer process of deciding to drop out, and there was no music to accompany it. I wish I could do it all over again so I can put on music.
