This could be severely induced and clouded (or shrouded?) by my own experience, but man, 2014 is the shit so far when it comes to great albums inspired by or centered around a relationship gone bust.
This year alone the records by Lykke Li, Sharon van Etten, and in some way FKA Twigs too (I think?) are modeled around his theme. And I had so many more albums to mention but forgot about them right now. They are defo out there. 2014 seems like breakups are inspiring a lot of great music.
Great breakup inspired or themed albums - not just songs, though if will shamefully confess to having heard Kayleigh on the radio today and enjoyed it in that melancholy way - list them here and discuss.
