literally can't listen to that one. a life cut short at the moment of sexual awakening, the confusion of death interfering with the confusion of first love... i think this is what the fault in our stars is about too. i will never see that movie for this reason.

this one, interestingly, i listen to often. it's never clear who the lyrics are addressing so it's pretty easy to project oneself into the song. anyone who has ever lost anyone -- anyone, even, who has ever loved anyone -- can directly relate to this song, i think.

i don't know what it is about this song but it's unbearably sad.

mostly, in this thread i am interested in seeing which songs people find nearly unbearable. i think it will be different for each person.

I would have posted Innermost Thoughts by the Happy Family, but it isn't on youtube. I think it is maybe the most emo Momus has ever been on record? I'm worried now that I'm inerpreting it wrong but I thought it was about a relationship that has gone sour, and the narrator horrified that he has let himself get carried away and shared too much, and realsing the whole thing was just a humiliating burlesque

a lot of this is obviously me projecting my own various pitiful insecurities and hang-ups, but that seems to be in the spirit of the thread if I'm reading you correctly?
