I've been gorging on Stereolab lately and feel they excel at the singles, one-offs and odd bits. "Refried Ectoplasm" over "Mars Audiac Quintet" for me!

You don't have to love TRNB to know that "Crest" needs to be on any introductory mix.

Voted Les Yper Sound because I once had amazing dream about that song. Too long to recount but love the song.

I do like "Outer Bongolia" a lot, but generally fell off the Stereolab train after Dots & Loops. Couldn't they just keep trying to sound like Neu! forever?

Fluorescences by miles, although tbh, like the Cocteau Twins, I cannot usually associate their tunes with their song titles - let's say they are abstract, to be kind

Another vote for Fluorescences here. Probably my second favourite song of theirs behind French Disko.

Listened to both of those yesterday, they do indeed kill. But you know what, Fluorescences b-side "Soop Groove #1" is a damn short 13 minutes of joy!

Finding the Fluouresences ep and discovering Soop Groove was a mindbender at the time. I'd probably pick that if I had to give up all the rest of my 'Lab disks

Fluorescences, Captain Easychord and Wow and Flutter are some of their more 'pop' songs, so they're good for new listeners. I love Refractions in the Plastic Pulse but it seems like a hard one for newcomers.

You're missing Jenny Ondioline, Ping Pong, French Disko, Lo Boob Oscillator and Miss Modular.

As someone who only really knows Stereolab through a handful of songs not in this poll but feels fondly towards them based on limited familiarity, I am going relish listening to these and making my vote.

If there ever was a 'lab ballot, French Disc/ko would be my undoubted number one

I love, love, LOVE Refried Ectoplasm 2. All of it. "Mountain" just has a special place in my heart.

I wish I'd been able to find the album with "Daisy Click-Clack" on it to add that song.
