best "9/11 album" = The Disintegration Loops

― ET sippin the wig (spazzmatazz), Wednesday, 24 December 2014 07:23 (eleven years ago)

at least it's not wilco

― nostormo, Wednesday, 24 December 2014 07:24 (eleven years ago)

that's an unintentional 9/11 album, like Kid A or the one by explosions in the sky

haha this IS what I was listening to instead of Wilco

Both great records, but I gotta go with Murray Street. Really love that languid guitar jam period of Sonic Youth.

yeah, surprised by this. even for "that languid guitar jam period of sonic youth", murray street is weak as hell.

Really? I think this and Sonic Nurse were high points for their later phase. Which albums do you prefer?

I prefer fuckin... one beat! christ

OTM

xp - Ah, I was just being grumpy; first half of Murray Street is damn good. Better than NYC Ghosts & Flowers, that's for sure. For jammy late SY, I prefer Sonic Nurse and (to a lesser extent) Rather Ripped.
