I've been a lurker here on ilx for the better part of a year and I'm finally joining because yall have stopped sleeping on Jesse Mac!! I think his album from this year "In Technicolor" was extremely underrated and he's out here making consistently good and genuine pop.

But somehow Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor and Ed Sheeran get all these Grammy nods but Jesse is ignored...why? It's all pop, so what makes their pop any better than his pop, except that its more mainstream and culturally relevant..but wait aren't the Grammys supposed to be awarded for quality music regardless of sales and popularity? Hmmmm. But it's not like the Grammy's haven't been continually letting me down since 2010, so them snubbing Jesse isn't a turning point or anything.

Anywho, if I would have voted for top singles in this poll I would have picked Leavin' (the song that converted me to fandom), Shake (what a banger) and Beautiful Soul (timeless pop gem, even if it's candy).

Some of his best shit isn't the singles though, the albums cuts since Departure clearly outmatch the singles by a fair margin.

Speaking of since departure, how many of you have heard "Have It All," Jesse Mac's 2010 album? Now you might be saying to me, 'hey new guy, what 2010 album?' Exactly! It's fucking weird for an artist of Jesse's tier and genre and popularity to have a "Lost" album but he DOES. And it's AMAZING!!

It can be easily found leaked onto torrent sites in pretty good quality, and I'd say there should be no moral qualms in getting it that way, seeing as it will likely never get an official release.

The music itself is dated in places, very of the 2010 moment, and I can see why he wanted to give up and put new shit out by the 4th year of "Have It All"'s delay, but the stuff that does hold up on this album is the best he's ever written. Standout tracks are Tonight is Your Night (ace production, vocal delivery and hooks), Undo (makes a straight man question his choices with how sexy he sings this, also a The-Dream track) and Seasons (just pure amazingness).
