I get the comparison, but even the chords are different, to my ears, both in the verse and the chorus. They share some loose arrangements similarities, I guess. Her corrected vocals are piercing.

Eh, this isn't as bad as I was led to believe. Too much midtempo sludge that all blurs into itself, but some of the speedier songs with big choruses are really nice. "War Paint" in particular.

a couple songs have glaringly bad aesthetic decisions but overall i think it's decent on first listen

How do people rate her albums in general? I know Breakaway is her big seller but is it also seen as her best? I know My December has its fans too but don't really know about her other albums.

Just reaffirmed to myself that "I Do Not Hook Up," "Cry," and "Don't Let Me Stop You" is the strongest 3-song run on any of her albums.

I only just listened to All I Ever Wanted and really enjoyed it. Found it quite consistent. Even liked the Halo one.

I didn't like this album at first (all the mid-tempo songs are front-loaded, the better uptempo ones buried at the end) but it grew on me more than I expected. "Nostalgic" should totally be a single, but it probably won't. See also "You Love Me" from the last album.
