The Hymn Of The Soviet Union, particularly as performed by the Red Army Choir, is probably the greatest ever national anthem. The Internationale isn't a patch on it.

I can recall reading that amongst the peasant classes during the revolution, some of them from the most backward regions thought The Internationale was some kind of physical being/deity rather than an anthem.
