when I saw the thread title I was like "self destruction easy, are you kidding" but "same gang" never got as much play where I lived except on KDAY which didn't reach inland so I only heard it a few times back then...it seems really very good to me now, the track is great and the verses are...pretty great actually. but "self destruction" I remember the premiere of. super clear. it was a big big deal, they hyped it all week, "new track featuring public enemy," I would have been directly in front of the TV for anything new from PE and I remember waiting through the whole video for that reveal (which seemed a little disappointing, Flav's counterpoint was like c'mon man) -- but it was just such an exciting thing, all these major people whose work I was so focused on collaborating.

"same gang" I wanted to hear the verses from NWA and DU but I was not hip to the rest of the stuff. listening now, it really seems like the better song? but that could just be because I didn't buy/own it and spend a lot of time with it, whereas I could still recite most of "self destruction" from memory

You know, I sort of feel the same way.

Feel certain we polled the verses or something

We're All In the Same Gang, even though the editing is super sloppy. Self-Destruction sounds more like all parties involved were at least at the studio within days of each other, but King Tee and Above The Law's verses on Same Gang goddamn! Even Tone Loc and Hammer come off.
