I love just about every song on the first, love the singles and half the second, but because "Umm Hmm" won't get love I'll give it some.

any song on the 1st > any song on the 2nd except "window seat"

The more I force comparisons with SITKOL, the more sense it makes. Like "Love's In Need of Love Today," "Amerykahn Promise" makes for an comparatively underwhelming opening salvo what becomes a much more complex work.

The only songs I wouldn't really consider voting for:

i listen to pt. 2 more often these days, it's one of my favorite summer records. pt. 1 needs a more particular mood/context.

I'm sorta glad to read this because my immediate fear upon seeing this poll is that Return of the Ankh would be completely shut out. Don't get me wrong, 4th World War is a masterpiece, but I feel like RotA gets overlooked a lot of the time as a result of being the follow-up.

That said, I'm probably still going to vote for "The Healer."

As an ignorant art-rock dilettante I gotta call 2 as the better album and the long one as the best song (vmic)

I don't think I gave RotA enough of a chance, really, but it was always going to be tough to compete with 4WW.

I voted for the Healer in the last poll, so I might go with Master Teacher or Window Seat or That Hump this time

(Though I might go with Out My Mind just out of sheer appreciation of the fact that Lex and LJ are both voting for the same thing here)

My instinct says "The Cell" cause that's the one I bumped the most when these came out but "Telephone" just destroys me every time.

I think "The Cell" is when people first started noticing Thundercat,or at least going "who the hell is that bass player?"

The thing about "The Healer" is that its position on the album magnifies its impact. I pretty much love every single song on both of these albums but the way that icy march slides in behind the gloriously messy, syncopated prelude hits me like a sledgehammer every single time I hear it.
