Hot Hot Hot is a cover and Banana Boat Song is a traditional Jamaican folk song, rather than the result of inspiration per se. In the same vein, the Andrews Sisters' uncredited cover of Lord Invader's Rum And Coca Cola was one of the biggest hits of the 1940s. I'm very fond of Robert Mitchum's cover of From A Logical Point Of View.
