, Buraka Som Sistema‘s label Enchufada is releasing Dotorado Pro’s African Scream as a two-track single that will include the original and a slowed-down kizomba edit, plus the bonus “African Scream 2,” which adds frenetic percussion and ducking synthesizers to the booming tune
ducking

could be a good thread to talk about this lisbon scene too (i'm no expert but the nidia minaj album is brilliant)

great beat. it sounds really Senegalese-influenced to me, but idk.

on first listen i wasn't hearing it quite right so it sounded even crazier, now it sounds more straight-forward but still dope. it's all about how the drums in the second half of the bar straighten out and grind against the triplets in the marimba.

I like how the marimbas change tone as the track progresses. they start off quite high and chimey and seem to get deeper towards the end. not sure i hear what's particularly remarkable/crazy about the beat but i like afrobeats and the dj marfox type stuff anyway.

kind of reminds me of Crazy Cousinz' 'Inflation' in a way.

Plus Buraka Som Sistema put out a kuduro influenced effort in late 2014

i've no idea where to put this but i was blown away by nkisi's set at trance party last night, which included the first time i've heard "african scream" dropped in a club, and i'm getting bang into her productions - lots of kuduro etc rhythms but these really intoxicating dark, driving melodies as well..
