I still listen to his music a lot - I feel like he was always in his own zone, a kind of milder mellower place than other people but with a very deep focus. When I bought something of his off bandcamp once, he sent me a "thanks!" and we had a brief back-and-forth about his music. seemed like such a positive guy. Heartbreaks & Hallelujahs, the album he finished in '02 but didn't release until 2012, is really good -- pretty weird, for sure, but addictive, which is my read on Freak Flag, too.
When I listen to his stuff, more than with many other, bigger artists, I feel like the world is poorer without his voice in it - the pocket in which Tranquility Bass's music sits is its own place.
