'Loud' guitar riffs that are really cornball

usually the guilty parties are a pop song where the group wants to 'rawk' but only knows rock music superficially so they create a riff that to them sounds massive but is really goofy. but not always!!!

the first one that always sticks out to me is Toto's "Hold the Line". they 'let their hair' down and despite me liking the song a lot, that riff always makes me laugh as it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I respect the neurodiversity of ilx and everything but I wish ppl like hammer smashed bagels would bear in mind that some of us are not suffering from early onset senility & don't need a spreadsheet to remember who people are

yes we get daily reminders from people who crib the same 2-3 posts from 7 years ago like a crepey stalker instead

i'm not senile but i can't keep anybody straight on the internet. particularly when people start arguing with each other. i just can't differentiate human beings from each other based on their invective these days.

Can't you say e.g. "I/he/one just had a good wank"?

EveningStar (Sund4r), Saturday, 30 May 2015 21:04 (ten years ago)

tayto fan (Michael B), Saturday, 30 May 2015 21:06 (ten years ago)

zionsmommy (mattresslessness), Saturday, 30 May 2015 22:24 (ten years ago)

that one song on beak>> that rocks formidable.. (riff) feels like they're going for a weighty metal statement, but it's got like 90s alt-rock feel.. still good though. WULFSTAN II
