Pretty awesome but why is Laurie Anderson speaking in an Irish accent?

Ringo has looked 65 years old for 30 years. Kudos to him playing a freaking Shirelles song with a double kit to lead his bit off. F those people that says the Beatles only mean something to kids whose parents force their music on them.
I can't fucking believe Daryl Hall is 68 fucking years old. Dude is amazing.
Did Bill Withers lose his voice? It was super touching seeing everyone support him and Stevie Wonder was unreal funking it up on his weird touch guitar thing but why wasn't he singing at all?
The Nirvana section was amazing. Michael Stipe absolutely killed it in his introduction speech. Also Courtney Love is the Official Hot Mess for the Ages. Christ. But having women sing all their songs, including Joan Jett and Kim Gordon, was inspired I thought.
Springsteen gave an unbelievable induction speech for the E Street Band – closing with him telling a story about how twenty years ago Steven Van Zandt tried to convince him to push the Hall to induct Bruce and the E Street Band and that he said he wouldn't do it. He ended it with Little Steven saying something to the effect of, "I understand but Bruce Springsteen and the E St. Band is the legend." Pretty big of Bruce to cop to that I thought.
All in all I'd always been under the impression that the HOF ceremony had lost a lot of its luster once they started televising it but this was pretty damned raw in places. And the music was generally pretty great.

Ok, just realized I've DVR'd (and reviewed) two separate ceremonies from the last couple of years.

Still, question in the OP holds. Is this the artsy version of Madge adopting a British accent in the late 90s?
