most hideous album art of the year. silverchair singer makes album of smooth r&b sex jams and for the most part succeeds. in the miguel thread i suggested this record is a really nice counterpart to wildheart but ymmv

But will there be any lyrics about tuna and fungus in milk? That's the question!

I really liked Aerial Love (and still do), but I haven't been able to crack the whole album yet. Seems like work.

You kinda have to admire the guy for wanting to piss off his original Frogstomp/Freak Show-era fanbase as much as possible.

he's been deliberately alienating them for like fifteen years now

spent a lot of time with this over the weekend and it's frankly incredible. i'd cut like four tracks from the thing regardless

been listening to it on and off for a few weeks, it's a bit of a disappointment on the whole following the promise of side one (especially the first few songs), but it really is a strong record and so much better than i would've imagined ("imagination," by the by, being my favorite). i'd say it's the best album he's ever put out, by a clear margin. just sorta frustrating since all it'd take to improve it, and really tighten its cohesion, would be to shave about a third of it off.

I will listen to this Brad because I trust you. Don't let me down.

Difficult for me to get hold of this in China, but he's still palling around w/the Presets, right? And ... oh god, Joel Little? Noooooooooooo. Though tbh, Brad, I'd kinda be curious about yr take on his OG pop-punk band Goodnight Nurse.
