I only have Ad Nauseam, but the full Horn is a landmark in sustained obnoxiousness

Don't really want to vote because they really were terrible cunts tbh

I mean, Peter Cook's entire career was one long cry for help - it's only compelling when viewed as such

"This bloke come up to me" was basically a true story, except it was Peter Cook that said "Hello" and got beaten up, at a Chelsea match.

'Come Again' is the best, true comic genius. None of the others reach the same heights.

The sad, desperate bastard - couldn't anyone have seen how starting a satirical theatre / nightclub was an expression of anguished pain?

Why someone didn't just put him out of his misery when he started funding Private Eye is a tragic mystery of our days

"Aaargh, won't somebody help me open a satirical theatre?"

First album is one I'm most familiar with, haven't heard of these in years but can quote the first at will.

"... which is where she used to go out bathing."

See what I mean.

Derek & Clive are all about being chaotically obscene, drunk and obnoxious. Therefore Come Again is the best - it's definitely the most fucked up in concept, execution and content.

"Come Again" edges out "Ad Nauseum," but they've both got great stuff.

Two things I love:
- Those random moments when Dudley Moore completely loses it
- The way they pronounce it "cumt"

For the most part, the 2nd disc of unreleased stuff on "Rude and Rare" is a travesty and should never have been released.

I get the impression disc 1 is a 'best of' which makes me wonder why they put it into the box set.

Mark G, Thursday, 16 July 2015 08:17 (nine years ago)

Yes, disc 1 is a Best Of, but it's got nothing from "(Live)" because Virgin evidently couldn't be bothered licensing a couple of track from Island.
