hmm yea i liked the flatness weirdly, it worked for shopping at jcrew at least

there's a few great songs on this, and a couple that would fit on the lion king soundtrack. if amy w had been able to write therapy instead of rehab... the house-y stuff is the best on here though.

"Whole Damn Year" and "Doubt" were the best songs she's had on the radio in a long time, but the album overall was kinda week and "Therapy" is just awful, Sam Smith is such a hack. the Think Like A Man 2 soundtrack is secretly the best album Mary put out in 2014.

I liked "Pick Me Up" and "Follow" and "Right Now." The closer is my favorite Blige ballad in years.

whole damn year is amazing, and so much darker than anything else on the album, by a quantum

i just like her style on this. have to look up which house track i loved

It really contains some of her best bum notes ever.

Long Hard Look --> Nobody But You is just a great run. The beat/chord changes on Long Hard Look = magic

i got the bf into this, which is harder than you might think. grateful to have a solid album to listen to again.
