These are always the best bits of the reader's polls, heh heh.

Well, given I've a reputation to advance:

Lisa from Steps (for the third year running) until she died her hair black and blue. Cat Deeley (or possibly her stylist, since it's the boots and cowgirl gear that does it) Declan Donnelly (from Ant and Dec for FT readers over the water.)(Sorry Ant!) Madonna (but only in the American pie video--swing those things girl!) Daphne and Celeste All of Destiny's Child (in all their various line-ups). Craig David (I'd have had him in the subway, on the Monday.) Lucy Liu (in Ally McBeal) Drew Barrymore (in Charlie's Angels) Eminem--he's cute, but I think he's married to Kim. Hee-hee.

Well that will do for the moment, more when I can remember them...

Jane Falconer, of course. And I will say it again. :-)

Ned Raggett, Monday, 4 December 2000 01:00 (twenty-four years ago) link

I'm very disappointed that no one yet has named me. Shame on all of you. I know it's been a quiet year, what with no pictures or awards, but heaven's, do you all forget so fast? Boo hoo.

Erm, anyhow. Easy peasy, Russell Crowe. Girls...girls is tougher, because most of the famous girls from this year are nappy. Nelly Furtado is very attractive, in an anorexic sort of way.

Ally, Monday, 4 December 2000 01:00 (twenty-four years ago) link

Oh Ally, you're infinitely praiseworthy. But Jane would hit me if I went on too long. ;-)

Heh heh heh. The Channel Six. Did anyone really seriously expect me to say anything else? I think it's Ollie Flanagan this week cause the go-faster-striped jumper pushed him over the edge.

Oh, you mean, *celebrities* not indie chancers from Hoxton? Good god, it's been pretty thin on the ground this year. The cult of the Fake SHB (football players! Irish boybands! for f@cksake!) has been really bothering me.

Erm, no one really, since the Dandy Warhols disappeared up their own arses. Or hairlines, as the case may be. Sigh.

Hmmmm.....I would be laughed out of the building with my selection of fanciable females.

It's a good thing you're not restricting the votes to pop people, because all of them lately have been downright *fugly*.

Whatever happened to cute pop boys? Answers on a postcard...

I will have to agree with Ally and say Russell Crowe, despite the icky Meg Ryan factor.

For women, there will ALWAYS be Thandie Newton. I don't care if she does nothing all year; she's still... yes.

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos was EXTREMELY sexy in "X-Men". Most of the singers didn't really appeal to me this year, although Janet Jackson began to make a comeback as she looked a lot less like an alien this year. Also, the girls from Destiny's Child are WOO-HOO (guitar, guitar). Pink was attractive for about five seconds.

Of course, Ally is drop-dead gorgeous, but that goes without saying.

As far as men are concerned, I'm still the yummiest man alive.

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 6 December 2000 01:00 (twenty-four years ago) link

Okay, Dan is better than Russell Crowe because Dan would never date Meg Ryan. You're right. I'm sorry, I apologize profusely.

I don't like Rebecca Romjin Stamos, not just because she's actually married to John Stamos which instantly makes one "eeewww" but because she's just a little generic for me. I did forget about another X-Man though - Hugh Jackman! Even with the ridiculous do, he was adorable.

I don't know why, but I'm picking men this year that are so ridiculously like my father's side of the family, it's not funny. I mean, if Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman showed up at a family gathering and said, "We're you're long lost cousins from Australia", I wouldn't think anything of it because it makes perfect sense. Especially since some of the family was sent to Australia, if you get my drift.

Ooh, ooh, I know, Karen from Will & Grace. She's pretty foxy for an old chick.

Ally, Wednesday, 6 December 2000 01:00 (twenty-four years ago) link

Yes. Hugh Jackman. Luscious especially because of terminally absurd haircut and the sideburns. Also: Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket. Hyperactive, overweight, a ham, plays accordian. Good Gravy, what's not to love?

Michael Daddino, Wednesday, 6 December 2000 01:00 (twenty-four years ago) link

I forgot Hugh Jackman! Thanks for reminding me, Mike and Ally.
