That Smithsfits stuff is actually kind of brilliant. It blends the sensibilities of those two bands really well. In fact, it's kind of a shame those people didn't run with it as an actual band with original material, since the songs their songs definitely don't adhere to either band's original melodies or arrangements, and don't seem to cop the chord progressions wholesale either.
