I only discovered Garage Band on my Mac (well, opened it for the first time last week) and I have no musical ability or else I would have a go at this.

This is precisely why you SHOULD have a go.

I keep getting lost in Garage Band. I haven't recorded anything yet. This might have been a silly idea.

Not as silly as me thinking I would have time. I'm not very proud of my effort at all. :-(

Mine's is no masterpiece, if that's any consolation. Not exactly selling this, are we?

After 2 attempts to make something PSBesque I'm just making something else. Given I don't have much time it sadly also may not be a masterpiece. Still...friday evening to polish it up.

Getting promoted + attendant work insanity + not knowing anything about Garage Band before I agreed to this + not having any musical ability or understanding beyond a listener = this was a very bad idea. Maybe this album really needs to broken up by a brief interlude track.

Got the backing track ready ('ready'). Now all I gotta do is the vox! I'm kind of pissed at myself for not spending more time on this. I wanted to do an epic sounding track and ended up doing something very minimal. Also, I'm pretty sure I stole the chorus from somewhere, I always do that. The verses too, probably.

I wanted my friend to sing on it but we couldn't manage it, which is a shame.

I tried to make it sad, which it is (kinda) but it's nothing like PSB, perhaps if they were on ECM.

My "Happiness" turned out more sinister than happy tbh.

I woke up with the awful thought i'd forgotten to have a bassline. There is a weird bassy phrase but ... is it still sunday, should I fix it?

Totally fine for a last minute fix! I'm pretty tired today -- yesterday was busy with a lot of things, including two shows -- so I might not get around to actually putting everything together until tomorrow.
