Holy shit, this is hilarious.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:35 (twenty-three years ago)

umm here's a sample of this mans work!!!

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree with the inclusion of Steve Perry.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Dude, Max Bacon rocks!

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Jon Secada even!

Siegbran (eofor), Friday, 1 November 2002 14:16 (twenty-three years ago)

"Window Dreamin'" from 'Chicago XIII' is a great Peter Cetera track

dave q, Friday, 1 November 2002 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Some of these guys I really envy: nice perms.

nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 1 November 2002 14:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Top 25 haircuts in rock, I'd agree. Mullet-tastic.

James Ball (James Ball), Friday, 1 November 2002 14:54 (twenty-three years ago)

The world cries out for the Jon Secada mullet.

(As an aside; of the singers I recognized, I would agree that they are indeed good singers.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 1 November 2002 15:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Dude! Dennis DeYoung!

For even more laughs, click through to the FEMALE vocalists that he rates. Laughs galore! To go from Queensrych to ... Barbara Streisand, now there is some class!

kate, Friday, 1 November 2002 15:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I wonder how good that guy sound when his cover band is playing Sam Cooke's "You Send Me"

"I have not played in a band lately because my type of music has all but died. It seems like nobody wants to hear" horrible versions of good songs anymore.

A Nairn (moretap), Friday, 1 November 2002 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Awww... I was about to say, 'Give the poor guy a break' - he can't help that he has such lame taste - and the singers he lists all do have powerful voices, if that's what you're into.

Then I listened to his MP3....

bwaauughhahah! Shjeez!

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 1 November 2002 15:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Jon Secada even!
Even metal lists have token "ethnic" guys.

dleone (dleone), Friday, 1 November 2002 16:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I just know that Jimi Jamison has been sitting around waiting for this kind of endorsement to kickstart the ol' career. You've gotta know that a comeback stadium tour for Survivor is just around the corner.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 1 November 2002 16:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't know if anyone noticed but who the hell are the Yamn Dankees?

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 1 November 2002 17:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I always liked John Waite a lot, and now I know why:

" . . . whenever he sings the word "world" he always goes up on the "R" and then immediately back down on the "L" to make it a two syllable word. INGENIUS!"

dan (dan), Friday, 1 November 2002 17:30 (twenty-three years ago)

who the hell are the Yamn Dankees

Get hip, sister... Nugent & Tommy Shaw of Styx... Detroit supergroup.

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 1 November 2002 17:46 (twenty-three years ago)

yes but isn't it the Damn Yankees? Not the Yamn Dankees!

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 1 November 2002 17:55 (twenty-three years ago)

One of the people on the list: Mickey Thomas I thought he was an ex Man Utd/ Welsh International !

Just a reminder, I have pointed this out before (but for new ILM folks) - this rock music website is hilarious: Melodicrock.com

[I find it hard to believe that this sort of rock music is still being produced in 2002, it's like the very worst moments of 80s Kerrang are frozen intime, crap front cover art, corporate band logos, mullets, perms, cliched AOR/Hair Metal, the most naff and simple song titles, wanky guitar solos - it's all packaged up, pass the bucket...]

DJ Martian (djmartian), Friday, 1 November 2002 17:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, and pre-rehab Steve Tyler were all excellent. Choices like Mike Reno, Rik Emmett, Steve Perry, and the Scorpions, Styx, and Kansas guys are baffling. Why would these be your favourite singers? The Dream Theatre guy is appalling as was Geoff Tate half the time (though I could at least understand why someone would like the vocals on Empire).

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 1 November 2002 18:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Yamn Dankees - I didn't read it carefully enough.. oh damn! I've already spent too much time on that fucking band!

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 1 November 2002 18:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Post-rehab Steve Tyler is unlistenable, BTW.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 1 November 2002 18:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Plenty on that list I wouldn't agree with...almost all, actually.

I'm glad Freddie Mercury was on there. Anybody who has a top 25 male vocalists list without Freddie Mercury on it is probably either lying or has lived in a cave since the 50s.

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 3 November 2002 02:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I sort of thank you for the link to melodicrock.com...when I saw a news tidbit for Tonic (those 10th-rate Jawbox wannabes) I knew this site truly put the c-r-o-c-k in r-o-c-k.

j.lu (j.lu), Sunday, 3 November 2002 03:36 (twenty-three years ago)

i like the metal list better. but the care you took in adding the fake d in kurdt when you misspelled the last name is precious.
