my impression is that they're shock rock, with a theatrical stage show, kind of a naughties punker-rock version of Ludus but not as talented musically.

Cultural Artifact of the Moment: Joan of Ass, "Greg's Apartment/Queen Bitch" ("WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!?!" "I'm Greg's girlfriend! Suf-FAH!" "BUT I WANT HIM!" "But I'm Greg's girlfriend!" "BUT I'M A BETTER FUCK!" And on and on. This obviously was made by a suburban kid who just never got over the idea of living in a city apartment where you can hear, whether you like it or not, every inane conversation and argument of every inane individual who also escaped from the suburbs. Me, I can barely hear it when the guy upstairs vacuums so I got no hangups.)
