i swear to god the guitar on 'can't get enough of your love babe' just kills me dead, but it's mixed way way down on seemingly every youtube version

i suppose my ideal for this is something between sister sledge's 'thinking of you' and prince's 'most beautiful girl in the world'

holy shit tuomas, that chaplin band song is unstoppable, thank you again
― François Pitchforkian (NickB), Friday, 26 February 2016 23:23 (ten years ago)
It's a cover of a Lucio Battisti tune, the original has pretty much the same guitar riffs, but I like how the Chaplin Band strips the groove down to beautiful minimum.

is there a thread for deep cuts and lesser known soul/funk tracks?
all the threads on here tend to generally be about top 40 hits and artists
(not looking for "gorgeous guitar parts" necessarily. i just thought this was the most appropriate thread to bump)
― Punster McPunisher, Saturday, 18 December 2021 05:55 (four years ago)
Does the “Random old R&B you are loving“ thread not get deep enough for you?
― katebishopfan616 (morrisp), Saturday, 18 December 2021 06:30 (four years ago)
oh, thanks! i didn't think to search for old r&b. i'll take a look at that thread
― Punster McPunisher, Saturday, 18 December 2021 18:41 (four years ago)
On my phone but search tamala/Motown for a decent thread I made for 70s stuff
